A roundtable discussion on the theme "Youth's Attitude Toward National Values" was organized by the Department of Economic Statistics at the Faculty of Digital Economy and Information Technologies of Tashkent State University of Economics, with the participation of students. The event was held within the framework of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence and the "Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening Public Health." It was attended by all professors and teachers of the department, students from various courses, as well as representatives of the faculty and university administration.
The main purpose of the roundtable was to examine young people's attitudes toward national values, discuss issues of their preservation, formation of patriotism and spiritual education, as well as to strengthen feelings of national pride, respect for one's people, and self-awareness among young people. In the era of globalization, raising youth in the spirit of national values, enriching their spiritual world, and developing respectful attitudes toward cultural heritage are of particular importance.
During the event, professors and teachers of the department delivered interesting and insightful presentations on the history of national values' formation, their modern significance, their role in the spiritual development of youth, as well as the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, its customs, traditions, and the place of national values in world civilization. Special attention was paid to the large-scale work on the restoration and development of national values during the independence years, adopted laws and programs, and the particular attention of our President to youth policy.
Participants of the roundtable actively discussed issues of preserving national values, forming patriotism and spiritual education in the minds of young people. In particular, questions of effective promotion of national values through modern technologies and social networks, protecting young people from the negative influence of foreign cultures, the role of parents and the mahalla (neighborhood community) in raising the younger generation, as well as the responsibility of the education system and higher educational institutions in this direction were examined in detail.
Students actively participated in the discussion and received detailed, well-founded answers to all their questions from professors and teachers. In turn, students put forward a number of proposals, projects, and practical recommendations for further expanding the promotion of national values. Among the proposals were the implementation of the project "National Values – the Foundation of the Future," the establishment of a "Spirituality" club at the department, regular educational events in mahallas and schools, and the organization of competitions for videos, essays, and posters on the theme of national values.
At the conclusion of the event, the head of the department spoke about the department's plans for educating youth in the spirit of national values, enriching their spiritual world, and strengthening patriotic feelings. It was noted that the department plans to regularly continue such roundtables and spiritual-educational events, involve students in research work on the topic of national values, and further expand activities in this direction.
This roundtable became one of the important steps in deepening young people's attitudes toward national values and fostering patriotic, spiritually mature youth. Participants expressed their deep gratitude to the department team for the high level of organization of the event and the valuable, useful information provided.
