An International Student Olympiad in Statistics Was Held in Moscow within the Framework of the “III International Student Statistics Festival”
From May 20 to 22 of this year, with the cooperation of the Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, an International Student Olympiad in Statistics was held in Moscow at the G.V. Plekhanov Russian University of Economics within the framework of the III International Student Statistics Festival.
The Olympiad brought together 13 teams from 7 CIS countries. Uzbekistan was represented by two teams from Tashkent State University of Economics.
Notably, the team of Tashkent State University of Economics won 3rd place in the team competition, while in the individual category, third-year student Madina Usmanova (daughter of Botir) achieved an honorable 2nd place.
It should be recalled that on May 21–23, 2024, the International Student Olympiad in Statistics was also held at the G.V. Plekhanov Russian University of Economics in Moscow within the framework of the II International Student Statistics Festival, organized by the CIS Statistical Committee.
At that Olympiad, two teams from Tashkent State University of Economics became winners in the nominations “Creative Approach in Scientific Research” and “Professional Use of Statistical Instruments.”
The main objective of holding this event is to train highly qualified professionals for the field, further strengthen the role and prestige of statistics, expand international scientific cooperation among students, and establish collaboration with universities and research institutions of other countries in the field of statistics.
